https://doi.org/10.51488/1680-080X/2022.2-07
Abstract. This article extends our understanding of the city through the notion for liveable cities of Jacobs (1961) ‘Death and Life of Great American Cities’, and Alexander (1964) ‘A city is not a tree’. Two large cities such as Almaty and Cardiff are selected to be a case study and anal-yses for supporting the arguments. Generally, both cities’ modern parts represent how the public realm might be socially inactive due to its lack of urban design complexity. Meanwhile, more pedes-trian-oriented and functionally mixed historical centres are liveable.

Abstract. A method is proposed to restore the operational suitability of bent reinforced concrete structures with increased deflections and excessive crack opening. Modern methods of reinforcement by surface gluing composite fibro-reinforced plastics (FRP) on the stretched zone of exploited reinforced concrete structures increase the strength and rigidity of reinforcing elements, but do not reduce deflections and the width of crack opening. To restore the operational suitability of damaged reinforced concrete structures, a preliminary stress is proposed, which is used to strengthen FRP, which is provided by the creation of a temporary construction lift in the damaged elements.

Abstract. The article is devoted to the development of a unique intelligent system that solves the problem of managing failures of water supply equipment in an engineering network. The developed intelligent system minimizes the costs of maintaining water supply equipment and most closely matches the conditions for the operation of an engineering network, taking into account modern features of economic fluctuations in the financial market for water supply equipment and the rapid development of IT technologies.
Keywords: intelligent system, stability, random failures, optimization, control tasks, decision making, engineering networks, water supply.

Abstract. The article deals with the problematic issues of compliance with the parameters of the microclimate of the premises. These problems are especially relevant for regions with a sharply continental climate in Southern Siberia and Northern Kazakhstan. The actual specific heat losses through building envelopes in these regions are twice as high as those regulated by building codes. The solution of this problem will ensure the normative parameters of the microclimate in buildings.
Keywords: permissible microclimate parameters, air quality, local asymmetry of the obtained temperature, optimal microclimate parameters, air velocity.

Abstract. The purpose of this article is to show the result of a study of the use of an operational remote control system (ODS) in heating networks. The analysis of the efficiency of centralized heat supply systems shows the deterioration of their operational functioning in Almaty over the past few seasons of heat supply. Based on this, this article analyzes the use of an operational remote control system in order to optimize heating networks.
Keywords: operational remote control system (ODS), heating networks, heat supply, optimization.

Abstract. In this article, the research is conducted with a purpose to assess energy efficiency of engineering systems. The main role of ALDREN-EPC certificate is described here, which is to determine the indicator of smart readiness of a building and the procedure for its evaluation. Also, the article recommends a tool to improve the effectiveness of SRI. The requirements and prospects of the EPBD ecosystem are outlined as well. Moreover, main causes of project degradation companies are investigated. Such as the lack of specialists of the proper level, the outdated structure of the project organization, as well as the lack of an understandable regulatory framework and training materials.
Keywords: Intellectual buildings, Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI), certificate of energy efficiency (ALDREN-EPC), building renovation passport, ALDREN-BRP, EPBD (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive), energy efficient house, engineering systems.

Abstract. Recently, the rational use of energy resources has become one of the key problems of the specialty. Today, its solutions, as a rule, are aimed at improving the thermal protection of enclosing structures and the efficiency of heat supply. However, the key issues in the efficient use of energy are the problems of consuming systems - heating, ventilation and air conditioning. In this article, the authors conduct a study of heating systems with renewable sources based on a finished project that will help reduce the consumption of energy resources.
Keywords: energy resources, renewable sources, solar system, building codes, building regulations, heating systems, heat losses, energy efficiency.

Abstract. The article examines the teacher's thinking as a pedagogical category, the need to make changes related to the level of perception of information and the change in the worldview of different generations and the factors of the formation of professional pedagogical thinking capable of managing pedagogical time. The comparison of fixation on stereotypes that inhibit the use of new technologies in the educational process, and fixation on developing and active methods of "modeling success", substantiation of the need for significant revolutionary changes in teaching (not teaching), formed through the breakthrough of creative, innovative thought – the formation of new pedagogical thinking.
Keywords: pedagogical thinking, growth thinking, fixed thinking, generation theory, time factor. pedagogical situations, modeling of success, pedagogy of trust.

Abstract. In this article, the author considers alternative ways to resolve disputes, that is, the use of conciliation procedures to resolve conflict situations in civil proceedings. The traditional way of resolving disputes has been and remains the judicial procedure, which is enshrined in the legislation of most states and is a guarantee of respect for human and civil rights. But the author considers conciliation procedures for resolving a dispute in a civil process by concluding a settlement agreement. Also, special attention is paid to resolving the dispute through mediation. The previously existing types of alternative dispute resolution procedures have been supplemented by participatory procedure and judicial mediation.
Keywords: alternative methods, dispute, conflict, settlement agreement, mediation, participatory dispute resolution, conciliation procedures, court, lawyer.
